Cars, concerts and snow: "Volkswagen Mountain Move" brings Aura Dione to Ischgl
Even more lifestyle in the Alpine metropolis: at the end of the winter season, Ischgl and Volkswagen enter into an unusual partnership that attracts international stars to the ski resort. As part of the "Volkswagen Mountain Move", Aura Dione will surprise guests with a free open-air concert at 2,300 metres above sea level on 10 April. The Danish pop singer completes a month of superlatives in Ischgl, as Mariah Carey, Tim Bendzko and Peter Maffay (Alp Trida/Samnaun) will also be performing in the centre of the ski resort in April
Summit hopping at the highest level: Aura Dione will be heading straight from the top of the singles charts to the Silvretta Arena in Ischgl as part of the "Volkswagen Mountain Move" week on 10 April. At an altitude of 2,300 metres, the young singer-songwriter from Denmark will be letting her hair down at 1 p.m. - in a musical way, of course. At the spectacular open-air concert on the Idalp show stage, the 27-year-old will give the audience an insight into her eventful life. Anyone who grows up with hippie parents and travelled the world's oceans on a boat as a small child has a lot to tell. Freedom, love, courage and friendship - that's what her lyrics are about and that's exactly what she seems to have a finger on the pulse of the times. Her song "Geronimo" shot from zero to number one in 2011 and her current single "Friends" also immediately entered the Top 5. She describes her own style of music as "progressive pop poetry". A little provocative, somehow vulnerable and yet strong and somewhat revealing, as on the cover of her current successful album "Before the Dinosaurs". Her concerts are moving and her performance on the peaks of the Alpine lifestyle metropolis of Ischgl is the highlight of the "Volkswagen Mountain Move" event week, which takes place from 9 to 15 April, and not without reason.
Glamour and snow for everyone
In Ischgl, everyone gets a taste of the glamour, as admission to the open-air concert is free with a valid ski pass. On 10 April, all summiteers will be able to enjoy the impressive voice of Aura Dione, who was involved in the "Volkswagen Sound Foundation" music promotion programme in 2011, which supports young up-and-coming musicians, and at the same time work off some energy in the ski area. With spring-like temperatures, the Silvretta Arena with 238 kilometres of pistes all the way to Samnaun in Switzerland offers the best snow conditions for the most beautiful skiing time of the year.
