Record-breaking Gampenbahn

1988 - 2018

Gampenbahn chairlift is setting records: In 1988, it was the biggest construction project to date for Silvrettaseilbahn AG, and it was completed in only five months. What’s more, the former 4-seater chairlift used to be the longest in Austria at the time, making it an impressive feat of technology.
30 long winters and about 13 million rides later, it was time to replace the old chairlift with a latest-generation one by Doppelmayr in 2018. The old 4-seater chairlift is planned to be rebuilt in the city of Taras in Kazakhstan. For more detailed information on the construction project, visit our blog!
