Twinliner L1 in Samnaun

Your double-decker cable car to Switzerland

Back in 1994, Ischgl/Samnaun was already setting trends in terms of state-of-the-art cable car technology. Until today, the Twinliner Samnaun L1 remains among the most innovative cable cars of the Alps. The cable car from Samnaun-Dorf to Silvretta Arena was the world’s first double-decker cable car. Just like back then, it still offers passengers exquisite views of the surrounding mountains throughout the year.

Up to 180 passengers per cabin get to enjoy a scenic six-minute ride up to Alp-Trida-Sattel in Samnaun in Switzerland. The Twinliner aerial tramway travels at speeds of up to ten metres per second, powered by an engine with around 2,000 HP.
