Since 2019, Velilleckbahn F1 chairlift has been an eye-catcher at Ischgl’s ski resort: The state-of-the-art 6-seater chairlift with hoods replaced the old lift from 1993. Winter sports enthusiasts visiting Ischgl love the lift’s top-class technology, its unique design and outstanding comfort.

Facts about the modern 6-seater chairlift

572 metres in 5.92 seconds

From the valley station at slope No. 7, it takes the chairlift 5.92 minutes to cover the 572 metres up to Pardatschgrat. With a speed of up to six metres per second, the ultramodern Velilleckbahn is the fastest chairlift in the entire Silvretta Arena. The splendid views of the stunning mountains make a ride on the new 6-seater chairlift a highlight in itself. The state-of-the-art chairlift has the following characteristics:

  • low operational noise and vibration
  • 520-millimetre-wide, ergonomically designed, individual heated seats with extra padding
  • weather protection hoods to shield passengers from the elements
  • optimised safety bars for maximum protection
  • stylish chairs with creative floral designs printed on the backs of the seats

High-tech instead of vintage

Did you know that Velilleckbahn chairlift had a busy predecessor? From its beginnings in the 1970s, the fairly old-school but reliable chairlift took about 14 million ski enthusiasts up to the summit. The 2-seater chairlift was first put into operation in 1978 and replaced by a 4-seater chairlift in 1989. In 1993, it celebrated its comeback as the new Velilleckbahn chairlift.
