Two metres of snow, 235 kilometres of slopes and a powerful voice: R'n'B queen Rihanna got the fans going at the Top of the Mountain Opening Concert in Ischgl on 1 December. Once again, the ski mecca of Ischgl became the "place to be".
Ischgl also offered its guests a hot start to the winter season this year: at the opening on 1 December, chart-topper Rihanna provided a night full of atmosphere with numerous hits. She received strong support from the eleven finalists of the current Popstars season, who already fired up the audience as the opening act. Numerous celebrities also didn't want to miss out on the mega concert at the valley station of the Silvretta cable car: Pop singer Sandra, known for her hit "Maria Magdalena", Hannes Eder, Managing Director of Universal Music, Daniel Aminati, actor and Pro7 presenter and Catharina Cramer, owner of the Warsteiner brewery celebrated in the midst of around 20,000 fans.
The singer Rihanna, who has just won the MTV Music Award, joins artists such as Anastacia, Alanis Morisette, Elton John, Tina Turner and the Pussycat Dolls in the ranks of the "Top of The Mountain Stars" in Ischgl. Dressed in an extravagant outfit, she fired up around 20,000 visitors with her fiery show at this year's winter opening in Ischgl. With songs such as "A Girl like Me", "Good Girl Gone Bad" and "Umbrella", her live concert at the valley station of the Silvretta cable car thrilled the many fans in attendance. The newly crowned finalists of the current Popstars season also performed in Ischgl as the opening act.
Not only was the fantastic "Top of The Mountain Opening Concert" with Rihanna a success, the snow-covered mountains and wintry landscape also provided the perfect winter feeling and whetted the appetite for winter sports and après-ski. The snow guarantee in Ischgl was once again demonstrated at the winter opening. The start of the 2007/08 ski season in Ischgl was celebrated in style with the Top of The Mountain Opening Concert.
