W10. 357 Senda Alp Trida–Alp Bella (Samnaun/Schweiz)

Medium-difficulty winter hike from 357 Senda Alp Trida to Alp Bella

To get to the starting point, take the double-decker cable car to Alp Trider Sattel and then the N6 Sattelbahn down to Alp Trida. Alp Trida literally means "desert alp" in Rhaeto-Romanic. On the alp lie countless boulders that fell long ago from the Bürkelkopf and Flimspitz and were spread over Alp Trida by a glacier. In winter, the boulders are barely visible under the thick layer of snow. At the Skihaus Alp Trida restaurant, the trail first leads 200 m up along piste 68b, then climbs steadily slightly to Alp Bella, the "beautiful alp" (2380 m above sea level). There are hardly any boulders on Alp Bella, hence the name. Winter hikers enjoy the panorama of Piz Mundin, Muttler and the Ötztal Alps. In summer, this is one of the highest cow pastures in Europe. The path from milk to cheese here in Samnaun leads via a milk pipeline that brings the milk from the alp directly to the cheese maker. In winter, the culinary offer invites skiers and hikers to linger. From Alp Bella you can also see the round rock formation "bei der Kirche", an impressive geological witness to the folding of the Alps. The hike takes an easy two hours there and back.

From the north: via Landquart - Klosters by car transport through the Vereina Tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or via the Flüela Pass into the Lower Engadine on H27, from Vinadi turn left towards Samnaun.

From the east: via Landeck / Austria in the direction of Reschenpass on the B180, from Kajetansbrücke in the direction of Spiss - Samnaun on the L348

From the south: via Reschenpass to Kajetansbrücke, then towards Spiss - Samnaun on the L348

With the double-decker cable car from Samnaun-Ravaisch to the Alp Trider Sattel and with the chair lift to Alp Trida.

Free public car park at the valley station of the double-decker cable car, Samnaun-Ravaisch.

- With the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Landquart/Prättigau or from the Upper Engadine) hourly to Scuol-Tarasp station.
